Life is a big endeavor and it's easy to get lost or discouraged.
Maybe you've felt overwhelmed, disoriented, anxious, or just plan exhausted. Between the constant demands of work, relationship challenges, trauma triggers, a never-ending to do list, and so many other demands on our attention and focus, it is normal to drift away from our central sense of self, our purpose, and our dreams. In counseling you can find ways to reconnect with who you're meant to be and find strategies to live your truest self in your daily life.
Prioritizing yourself is brave, important, and powerful.
If you're like the majority of the clients I work with, you are learning to know and express yourself more fully, figuring out how to set healthy boundaries and limits, and have a strong desire to reconnect to a sense of meaning, purpose, and confidence in your abilities. Whether you are a survivor of early childhood traumas, discrimination/systemic oppression, and/or abusive relationships, a big part of your recovery will likely be restoring the sense of safety within yourself so you can get back to being authentically you.
Once we get our footing, we intuitively begin moving toward joy and fulfillment.
I'll meet you where you're at and work with you to build an approach that is safe, curious, and empowering. You'll build new skills and strategies as well as connect with your existing strengths and tools so you feel ready to dive into the tough topics. As you dismantle the obstacles that prevent you from listening to your own wisdom, you'll being to trust yourself and feel empowered to take action toward your deepest goals.
You are unique, whole, loveable, and worthy, even if you don't quite believe it yet.
My approach to counseling intentionally includes a focus on anti-oppression/liberation. That means we will explore cultural and personal aspects of your identity and the ways in which you experience the world around you. Mental health used to focus on "what's wrong with you" but thankfully we can now recognize much of the way in which people struggle is a response to the adversities and triumphs they've had throughout their lives. We all have unique and important gifts and counseling is a powerful tool to fully appreciate our own humanity, the humanity of others, and the power we each have to change the world.
Today is the day to choose what tomorrow can look like.
The most influential part of the counseling equation is the relationship you are able to build with your counselor. So take your time reviewing my website and checking in with how my approach would feel for you personally. When you're ready, check my Contact Me page to see my current availability and we can set up a consultation to see if we are a good match!
With greater support you can find the balance, fulfillment, and encouragement you deserve!
