Counseling for Professional and Family Helpers, Healers, and Caregivers

Becoming a care provider may have been your professional calling, a family role you needed to take on, or a natural part of your identity. However you found yourself taking care of others, it can be difficult navigating your desire to help with your own needs. The emotional impact and logistical difficulties that go along with being of service to others can also lead to increased stress, physical illness, and emotional overwhelm, even to personal struggles with severe mental health problems like clinical depression or anxiety.

It is so important, for your health and wellness and for the well being of those around you, to seek out and maintain strong supports for yourself. In our work together, you will develop the tools you need to feel more centered, flexibility, and present in all areas of your life. We will figure out where you get stuck or depleted and create a strategy to overcome those obstacles. We will also dig deep to determine who you are and what you want to accomplish so you can feel more confident, calm, and fulfilled.

Treatment Approach

My work with care givers varies depending on their most urgent needs. However, some of the core areas that tend to be a part of that work are: developing stronger coping and stress management skills, exploring relationship patterns boundaries, identifying core narratives that inform personal expectations and obstacles to fulfillment, work/life balance, and seeing how caregiving fits into the broader life purpose/meaning a client has for themselves. I combine several therapeutic modalities in order to help people reconnect with the best versions of themselves so that they can live in alignment with who they are truly meant to be.
